Like Baby Baby Baby Oh!

The last time we went to get haircuts, Soren flat out refused to allow his hair to be cut despite Joanna's best efforts, lots of M&M bribes, and a short period of time where Rick restrained him with what looked like some kind of wrestling hold. Consequently he's looking a little Bieber-ish lately.
From a mom's perspective, he's still totally adorable.

Happy Heart Day!

We celebrated another Valentine's Day by spending the weekend at a cabin in Hocking Hills.
There was still just enough snow on the ground to do a little sledding. And everyone enjoyed relaxing afterward by the fire.
Will rediscovered his passion for hot-tubbing.

One of the highlights: a group of seven deer stopped by to visit for a while on Sunday morning.

On the crafting front, I cased these projects from Mary's Stamp Club to make the valentines Will took to school and the cards I sent out. What says love better than owls with big googly eyes?

Me and The Best Dog

Being cooped up in the house during the cold winter months has given Will plenty of opportunity to indulge in one of his favorite hobbies: making crafts and hanging them all over every vertical surface of the house.
This is the front of my fridge:

The sign reads: 'ME AND THE BEST DOG GOING TO THE CIRCUS'.
According to Will, our dog loves the circus.

Back From Blog Vacation

It wasn't really a planned vacation from blogging,
I guess I was just waiting for inspiration.

To catch you up, here's a brief recap of our lives since mid-December.

Will turned five.
Here he is decorating his Gingerbread House Birthday Cake.
Soren in helping.

Will got these sweet Batman glasses from Grandma.

Soren got overstimulated.

We celebrated the unusually warm New Year's Eve at First Night Columbus.
Everyone had lots of fun running around COSI until way after their bedtime.
Good job on the fireworks, Columbus!

Timbuk Tree Farm and a Little Christmas Cheer

Before the weather turned arctic we made it out to Timbuk Tree Farm to find the perfect tree.

On the hunt

Will supervises the harvesting of the tree.

Waiting for a ride back to the lodge.

The 'After' picture

Oh- and these are the cupcakes I made for Will to take to school for his birthday.

Merry Christmas!
I hope your holiday is warm and cozy
and your New Year full of health and happiness

Santa Train

Thanksgiving at Grandma's House was wonderful as usual. Uncle Ed drove up to join us for a warm and cozy holiday weekend. It was nice to spend a few days not doing anything in particular other than spending time with family.

On Saturday morning we got up bright and early and bundled up to head out into the snow (!) and ride the
Roaring Spring Santa Train.
It was so much fun to ride the circa 1920's train through the Pennsylvania countryside, singing Christmas carols, and visiting with Santa.
This was Soren's first trip on the Santa Train, but it was Will's third.
I think this just might be becoming a tradition
.
I'm sure that will be a comfort to the boys as I'm dragging them on to the Santa Train when they are teenagers.
