Easter

We drove back to Ohio on Good Friday which seemed like a fitting way to spend a quiet day of reflection. Will pointed out the flaw in my thinking, though. By driving to South Carolina on a Friday during Lent and driving back on Good Friday, I had deprived my family of one of their favorite car snacks: beef jerky. Sorry, guys. Small sacrifices.

Luckily, our Lenten sacrifices were soon rewarded.  We woke up on Easter morning to find the Bunny had visited.

It was hard to wait until after church to hunt eggs, but when the egg hunting began, it was a sight to see.

Happy Easter!

Just To Recap

In February Rick and I attended the Annual St Mary Gala, the major fundraising event for the boys' school.  Because this year marks the 150th anniversary of the founding of St Mary Parish in German Village, the theme of the Gala was a throwback to 1865.  Attendees were encouraged to dress in period costume.
Some did.
We did.
After a few glasses of wine, it didn't feel even awkward at all.
And it gave us the opportunity to take this awesome
Downton Abbey Selfie.

Blogger Catch Up - Easter

We were in Bedford for Easter and on Easter Saturday we went down to the town square for the community easter egg hunt.  Yes, it was just as nuts as it looks.

After church on Easter Sunday we enjoyed a much more civilized egg hunt on Grandma's porch.  It was nice of the Easter Bunny to arrange that.

Love these Easter Fellas!

Happy Easter

Easter in Bedford was rainy and cold.
But the day before Easter was sunny and beautiful and we dressed up in our Easter best for some family pictures, something my brother, Ed, has wanted to do for a long time.

Knowing the weather would be iffy, the Easter Bunny hid eggs on Grandma's porch so that we could stay warm and dry during the egg hunt.

Thanks, Easter Bunny!

We met Blue Lily!

Thanks to the eagle-eye blog watching of one Kara Schafer Morris, we were alerted that Blue Lily Photography was passing through Columbus and we scored a session!
Wendy and Tyler have such an interesting story (warning: their blog makes for addictive reading) and it was exciting to meet them one sunny afternoon in September at the Jeffrey Mansion and have Wendy capture some of the goofy fun.  Some of my favs:

Melissa Jones Photography

Some time in the fray of pre-holiday crunch, we got the chance to have photos taken by the talented and lovely Melissa Jones.
Thank you to my friend, Mary, for extending such a great opportunity to us.

Here are some of my favorites:
